Take me to the River!

The hardest part about africa may have been being so far from the water. Thank god that there is a river 300m from my house in the village! Seyla, Chiva, and Secklang took me down yesterday afternoon for a boat ride.

Hidden Treasure

So covered up in the corner of the Library's back room, we found a piano! I guess the Koreans donated a ton of Pianos to Cambodian school neglecting that nobody knows how to play them. Probably the best surprise of the trip so far, and I made quick work in teaching Chiva, a teacher and my translator, how to play some songs.

My place in the Village

I have been spending about half my time in Phnom Penh, and have my time in the village of Lveate. I got to admit, I was a little worried about the place I would stay in the village, but it has been quite nice if I must admit

We have a TV the runs on a car battery to watch the world cup games on.

Definitely spend quite a bit of time reading in the hammock

And Sokchea's mother in law could not be any nicer, not allowing me to leave unless I am stuff with food.

There may not be running water or electricity, but I would take this over any place I stayed in Africa.

The building we are replacing

So it was pretty easy to clear the building site of the old building. They simply picked it up, and carried it away!

These guys have been working hard, 7 days a week to get this project moving! With progress like this we'll have a completed school in no time.
